“Financial wealth is freedom. Freedom to make decisions and take actions in your family’s best interest, without economic concern.”

When Zach Binzer thinks about what drives him to get out of bed in the morning to head to work at Foster & Motley, or to spend time with his family, it really all boils down to one thing: he has a deep desire to help other people. Couple that with an extroverted personality and a love of drawing people out of their shells, it’s not a surprise that even in a short time, he has completely embraced and excelled at his work as a Financial Planner with the firm.

Zach came to Foster & Motley in July of 2016 after spending many years working in a variety of client and employee-facing roles. After graduating from the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, he worked as a tax accountant for Clark Schaefer Hackett preparing individual and entity tax returns. For six years, he worked in employee benefits and HR roles at both USI Insurance and CBTS and really enjoyed the individual interactions he had with employees and the help he could provide them as they planned for retirement.

When the opportunity arose to join Foster & Motley, he knew it was a natural fit. The firm’s family-oriented feel and focus on decision-making that is completely client-driven ultimately convinced him it was the best place to continue his career. He received his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM (CFP®) designation in 2017 and became a shareholder in 2021. He is also in charge of human capital at Foster & Motley, overseeing employee matters ranging from benefits and hiring to planning fun, team-building events for our staff. At Foster & Motley, relationships with clients are the most important aspect of anyone's work, and Zach knows that the well-being and happiness of his colleagues contributes to successful client relationships. Helping to provide a positive and engaging environment is right up his alley.

Outside of work, Zach is deeply involved with the Evans Scholar program – to date he has founded a local young professional’s chapter, been named a director, and serves on a national committee. He is also an acting board member with Melanoma Know More. For Zach, whether it is spending time with his wife Katie and their children, Annabelle and George, delving deeper into his hobbies of beekeeping and tree farming, or volunteering, the central principle of helping others is something he knows will continue to drive him for years to come.
