“Financial wealth is freedom. Freedom to make decisions and take actions in your family’s best interest, without economic concern.”

When Zach Binzer thinks about what drives him to get out of bed in the morning, it really all boils down to one thing: a deep desire to help others. Couple that with an extroverted personality and a love of drawing people out of their shells, and it’s no surprise that he has embraced and excelled at his work as a financial planner at Foster & Motley.

Zach joined the team in July 2016 after spending time working in a variety of client and employee-facing roles. After graduating from the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting, he worked as a tax accountant for Clark Schaefer Hackett preparing individual and entity tax returns. For six years, he worked in employee benefits and HR roles at both USI Insurance and CBTS and really enjoyed the individual interactions he had with employees and the help he could provide them.

When the opportunity arose to join Foster & Motley, Zach couldn’t pass it up. The firm’s family-oriented feel and focus on client-driven decision-making ultimately convinced him it was the best place to continue his career. He was hired as an associate financial planner and earned his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) designation in 2017, giving him the chance to work directly with clients as a lead financial planner. He deepened his commitment to the firm by becoming a shareholder in 2021. His desire to help others has made his involvement with the Employee Engagement committee a natural fit, allowing him to plan volunteer and social engagements for the team at large. At Foster & Motley, relationships with clients are at the heart of everything, and Zach understands that the well-being and happiness of his colleagues play a key role in fostering successful client connections. Helping to create a positive, engaging environment comes naturally to Zach

Outside of work, Zach is deeply involved with the Evans Scholar program. To date, he has co-founded a local young professionals chapter, been named a director, and serves on a national committee. He is also an acting board member with Melanoma Know More and is on the Board of Trustees for Kenwood Country Club. For Zach, whether it is spending time with his wife Katie and their children, Annabelle and George, delving deeper into his hobbies of beekeeping and tree farming, volunteering, or coaching his kids' sports teams, the central principle of helping others is something he knows will continue to drive him for years to come.
