More than a year after Harbor International lost its founding manager, the fund remains a solid choice for investors, say financial advisers.

The fund invests primarily in "value" or cheap stocks in European and developed Asian countries. Hakan Castegren of money manager Northern Cross Investments Ltd. was the sole manager of the Harbor fund from its launch in 1987 until early 2009, when four co-managers from Northern Cross were added. In late 2010, Mr. Castegren passed away at nearly 76 years of age.
