Foster & Motley is pleased to announce a free online cybersecurity education series.  Our goal is to provide information to help clients and valued partners protect confidential data in a world where protection is both increasingly difficult and important. The content will be provided by PBSI Technology Solutions, Foster & Motley’s security provider.  PBSI provides technology education and security services for hundreds of clients, including Foster & Motley.  We reached out to PBSI to arrange this webinar training, believing that clients would benefit from PBSI’s knowledge of security practices, and from their client-focused approach to training. See below for a summary of each session, and links to register.  Please note that a separate registration is required for each session.

Session 1: Securing Personal Information – PC, Phone, E-mail, Cloud
When: February 9, 1:00-1:30 pm EST
Increasingly, PCs are being infected with malware that steals passwords and copies data, without ever “announcing” its presence.  In this webinar, we will identify the 7 elements that need to be in place for effective personal security, and we will demonstrate best-of-breed security tools.  Security basics include antivirus, patch management, file encryption, secure file transfer, security training, reliable file backup, and online monitoring.

Session 2: Email Security Practices
When: February 11, 1:00-1:30 pm EST
87% of malware infections result from an inadvertent click on a link or attachment in a cleverly disguised email.  The good news: safety principles can be learned.  In this webinar, we will cover the latest in security principles, including "red flags" to recognize and avoid harmful emails, texts, and phone calls.  We will also review important security practices that should be followed by each of us in keeping our personal information safe.

Session 3: Password Management - Practical and Necessary Password Strategies
When: February 16, 1:00-1:30 pm EST
Most of us struggle with securely managing passwords. In this webinar, we will cover the best tools for storing and protecting passwords across all technology (PCs, laptops, phones, tablets, & Macs).  We will also cover practical password guidelines including how to safely access the web on public Wi-Fi.

Session 4: File Encryption & Cloud Security - Keeping Financial Information Secure
When: February 18, 1:00-1:30 pm EST
If my PC were hacked, what information could be electronically retrieved that could put my personal information at risk?  We will cover cost-effective tools to use for sending confidential information securely via email, and free tools to use for encrypting personal information on personal devices.  If you store unencrypted financial documents on your home devices, you should attend this webinar.
