Kroger’s turf is being invaded: Zach Horn Quoted in the Cincinnati Business Courier

Zach Horn, MBA, CFP(R), CMFC spoke with Steve Watkins of the Cincinnati Business Courier about Publix invading Kroger’s turf. Here is an excerpt from the story:

“Publix already competes directly with Kroger in several markets in the South and now they are bringing that competition closer to home for Kroger,” Zach Horn, managing partner and president of Kenwood-based investment advisory firm Foster & Motley, told me.

Neither Publix nor Kroger officials could be reached for additional comment.

Publix said in the release it “is looking forward to growing within the commonwealth (of Kentucky) and in its current operating area.”

Horn said it wouldn’t be surprising if Publix continued to expand in Kentucky, possibly into Northern Kentucky and even into Cincinnati. But that shouldn’t pose a big threat to Kroger on its home turf.
