“To me, wealth is giving back and bettering yourself to build a community that benefits those around you.”

"Bonjour!” is how you might be greeted by Sarah Browne. She’s fluent in French and studied for a month in the French Alps before graduating from Ohio University in 2013 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and International Business. Oui! Now we see where that French comes into play. She loves the language so much that she received a major certificate in French as well.

The French language and finance aren’t all that she loves. Sarah also enjoys cooking and sourcing local ingredients, and she especially appreciates gathering friends and family around the table for a good meal. While life looks a little different these days, she still enjoys experimenting in the kitchen and sharing food with others whenever she can. Outside of cooking, she loves spending time with her husband and daughter and making memories together. She’s also an avid cyclist who rode more than 250 miles in a four-day trek across Ohio in 2023. And, as should come as no surprise, she enjoys immersing herself in other cultures. Every few years, she returns to Europe to visit her host mom from her time studying abroad and reconnect with the people and places that shaped her experience abroad.

It’s obvious that Sarah is passionate about many things, making her a natural fit for our investment team. She joined Foster & Motley in late 2021, bringing with her an impressive academic and professional background. She earned her Master’s in Financial Economics in 2016 and received the CFA Program Women’s Scholarship in 2021 while pursuing the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) designation. In November 2022, she earned her CFA charter, further strengthening the expertise she brings to clients and colleagues alike.

Sarah is passionate about the representation of women in a traditionally male-dominated industry and was impressed with Foster & Motley’s diversity during the interview process. She is also deeply committed to promoting financial literacy within our community, recognizing its vital role in empowering individuals to achieve financial independence. Since August 2024, she has served on the Emerging Leaders Board of the Alpaugh Family Economics Center at UC. In addition, she volunteers with the StEP Store and Invest in Girls programs through the Center, helping students build practical financial skills and confidence. Sarah is also active in her church community and values opportunities to serve, mentor, and connect with others.
