At Foster & Motley, we believe giving back goes beyond financial support. This year, our team stepped away from the office and worked alongside several incredible Cincinnati-area organizations that are making a difference in the lives of individuals and families in our community.
Throughout June and July, Foster & Motley employees volunteered their time and talents across five organizations, doing everything from building beds for children in need to preparing meals for families, assisting campers with disabilities and helping nonprofits access the tools they need to serve their communities. We’re proud to share more about the organizations we partnered with and the impact our team was able to make together.
Sleep in Heavenly Peace

On June 4, our team volunteered with Sleep in Heavenly Peace, an organization dedicated to building and delivering beds to children who do not have a safe place to sleep. Lauren Hughes, Niki Roland, Robyn Harrison, and Karen Wienkamp joined seasoned SHP volunteers to help deliver beds directly to families in our community.
This experience gave our team the opportunity to see the impact of a simple, meaningful gift firsthand. More than just delivering a bed, volunteers helped provide children with a safe and comfortable place to sleep — something every child deserves.
La Soupe

On June 8, August Gravatte, Joanna Ouyang, Ellen Wisner, Megan Lyons, Amanda Hensley and Andrew Montanus spent the morning at La Soupe, an organization working to bridge the gap between food waste and hunger. La Soupe rescues surplus food and transforms it into nutritious meals for individuals and families in need throughout the community.
Our team helped unload and sort donated ingredients and prepare food for the week’s meals. By giving surplus food a second purpose, La Soupe is helping reduce food waste while ensuring more people have access to nutritious meals.
Stepping Stones

On June 25, our team volunteered with Stepping Stones, a local organization that supports children and adults with disabilities through programs designed to build skills, confidence and independence.
Amanda Hensley, Kyle Campbell, Carter Sokolis, Sarah Browne, Nick Roth, Zach Losey, and Kevin Schmitt spent the day assisting with the organization’s adult summer camp, accompanying campers through a variety of activities including art, fishing and more. It was an opportunity for our team to connect with campers, share in their experiences and help create a fun and meaningful summer day.
Cincinnati ToolBank

On July 16, Allison Koenig, Jamiera Lunsford, Nate Green, Amanda Hensley, Rachel Rasmussen, Heather Jackson, Heidi Lenhart, Sara Carr, Luke Hail, and Avery Kraus partnered with Cincinnati ToolBank, which helps local nonprofits access the tools and equipment they need to complete projects in their communities.
Our team assisted with preparations for the 17th Annual Reds Community Makeover by organizing and preparing tool orders. While the work happened behind the scenes, it plays an important role in helping nonprofits successfully complete projects that strengthen and improve our community.
Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Cincinnati

On July 29, our team volunteered at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Cincinnati, which provides a home-away-from-home for children and their families while they receive treatment at a nearby hospital.
Connie Hartman, Susan Koenig, Amina Addington, Beth Liesch, Jen DeBaun, Emily Diaz, Arlynne Zofkie, Lindsey Keith, Larry Bernhard, and Dave Nienaber prepared and served lunch for the families staying at the House. By helping with a meal, our team was able to provide a small moment of comfort and connection to families navigating an incredibly difficult time.
Continuing to Give Back
Each volunteer day looked a little different, but the goal remained the same: to give our time, lend a helping hand and make a difference in our community. We are grateful to each of these organizations for the work they do every day and for allowing our team to be a small part of their missions.
We look forward to continuing to find meaningful ways to serve and support the communities where we live and work.
